Virtuozzo launches V/Partner channel programme with tiered incentives
Virtuozzo has unveiled V/Partner, a restructured global channel programme targeting distributors, resellers, service providers and technology partners. The Bellevue-headquartered infrastructure software vendor said the programme expands the commercial, enablement, marketing and support benefits available to its existing base of more than 1,000 partners worldwide.
The launch comes at a moment of notable disruption in the virtualisation market. Following Broadcom's acquisition of VMware and the subsequent overhaul of that vendor's licensing model, many enterprises and managed-service providers are re-evaluating their infrastructure stacks. Virtuozzo is positioning V/Partner as a structured commercial route for channel partners who want to present customers with credible private-cloud and on-premises alternatives, backed by training and joint go-to-market support.
Programme structure
V/Partner is organised into tiered tracks. As partners accumulate certifications, generate customer demand and grow Virtuozzo-attributed revenue, they unlock additional benefits including discounts, rebates, referral fees and performance incentives. The programme also offers access to V/Partner Academy training, demo licences, pre-sales support and early roadmap engagement at qualifying tiers.
Chief executive Kurt Daniel said partners need "technology that responds to clear customer demand and a commercial model that rewards the investment required to build a market around it." Roy Wttewaall, Senior Director of Global Partnerships, added that the programme is designed to ensure partners who build value-added services "receive meaningful commercial value from that work" through renewal continuity and joint business development funds.
Virtuozzo says its platform integrates compute, storage, networking, orchestration, management, automation and data protection in a unified system. Built-in multi-tenancy is flagged as a particular selling point for service providers, allowing them to support multiple end customers without requiring separate product licences for each tenant. The vendor claims this architecture lowers total cost of ownership relative to alternatives, though no independent benchmark figures were included in the release.
Market context and competitive positioning
The enterprise virtualisation and private-cloud software market has been in flux since Broadcom completed its $69 billion VMware acquisition in late 2023. Licensing changes at VMware have driven a wave of partner and customer churn that competing vendors, including Nutanix, Red Hat OpenShift Virtualisation and a range of OpenStack-derived platforms, have moved to capture. Virtuozzo's pitch centres on infrastructure efficiency and TCO, and the emphasis on digital sovereignty and data locality in the new programme reflects growing enterprise and public-sector demand across Europe and Asia-Pacific for workloads that do not transit hyperscaler infrastructure.
The V/Partner programme also arrives as channel organisations increasingly seek vendors capable of supporting AI inference and GPU-backed workloads at the infrastructure level. Virtuozzo's framing of its platform as an "infrastructure alternative for AI and cloud services" signals an intent to compete not just on virtualisation consolidation but on the emerging managed-AI-services segment that service providers are beginning to build out.
Regulatory read-across
Partners operating in European markets will find the programme's digital-sovereignty messaging relevant to compliance obligations under NIS2 and the EU Data Act, both of which tighten requirements around where critical workloads run and how data flows are governed. For public-sector resellers in the UK and EU, the ability to point to regional data-centre deployment and on-premises options is increasingly a procurement prerequisite rather than a differentiator.
V/Partner is open globally from today. Partners can apply at virtuozzo.com/partners, with Virtuozzo's channel team assessing each application to assign the appropriate track and commercial route.
