Atos named Leader in three ISG cybersecurity segments for France
Atos has been positioned as a Leader in three segments of the 2026 ISG Provider Lens cybersecurity report covering France: Next-Gen SOC/MDR Services, Strategic Security Services, and Technical Security Services. The recognition, issued by independent research and advisory firm ISG, covers the French market specifically and follows similar vendor assessments ISG publishes across major geographies.
The Euronext-listed IT services group reported annual revenue of approximately €7.2 billion and employs around 54,000 staff across 54 countries. Its cybersecurity practice claims more than 6,500 dedicated security professionals, 17 security operations centres processing over 31 billion security events per day, and a portfolio of 205 cybersecurity patents.
What the report covers
ISG's assessment singled out Atos for the maturity of its SOC and managed detection and response capabilities, particularly for large enterprises, public-sector bodies and operators of critical national infrastructure. The analyst firm also highlighted Atos's status as a sovereign European provider headquartered in France, an increasingly important credential as French and broader EU customers seek to limit exposure to non-European supply chains.
Benoît Scheuber, principal consultant and security analyst at ISG, said Atos "differentiates itself through proven SOC/MDR services with extensive detection, response, remediation and recovery capabilities, including incident response services tailored to large enterprises and public-sector organisations."
On the strategic consulting side, ISG pointed to Atos's ability to unify governance, risk, compliance, and identity management within a single advisory framework. The technical security segment recognition focused on the company's identity and access management practice and its investments in zero-trust architecture.
Farah Rigal, head of cybersecurity services France at Atos, said the positioning reflects teams' expertise in "continuous compliance, proactive managed detection and response, identity and access protection, and AI-powered operations automation." Atos noted that a portion of its services operate under ANSSI qualifications, referring to France's national cybersecurity agency certification scheme, which is a prerequisite for supplying sensitive government environments in France.
Market context
The managed security services market in France operates under a demanding regulatory environment. ANSSI's SecNumCloud certification framework governs cloud-based security services used by state entities, while the EU's NIS2 Directive, which entered force across member states in late 2024, has significantly expanded the number of organisations required to maintain formal incident-response and supply-chain security programmes. DORA, which applies to financial-services firms from January 2025, has added another compliance layer that benefits full-service providers capable of covering both operational resilience and technical security in a single engagement.
Atos faces intense competition in the French managed security market from global peers including Thales (through its Cythia and Cogito CERT units), Orange Cyberdefense, and Sopra Steria, as well as from hyperscaler-affiliated security services. The sovereign European positioning is a recurring differentiator in French public-sector procurement, where preference for EU-headquartered providers is enshrined in several framework contract rules.
The Eviden product brand, which sits alongside the Atos services brand within the broader Atos Group, contributes hardware security modules, identity management appliances and digital identity products developed and certified in Europe. That dual-brand structure gives the group a combined services-and-products story that pure-play managed security providers typically cannot match.
Outlook
An ISG Leader designation carries commercial weight in enterprise and public-sector procurement cycles, where analyst-firm quadrants and heatmaps are routinely referenced in vendor shortlisting. For Atos, the recognition arrives as the group continues a multi-year restructuring that separated its infrastructure and services activities. Demonstrating sustained analyst recognition in high-value cybersecurity categories will be important to maintaining client confidence and supporting contract renewals during that transition.
