Eviden named IGA leader in KuppingerCole 2026 Leadership Compass

Atos Group's Eviden brand has been placed among Overall Leaders in KuppingerCole's 2026 Identity Governance and Administration report, citing hybrid deployment

An empty modern control room features multiple desks with office chairs arranged in front of a large multi-screen display wall showing glowing blue and red code, illuminated by bright natural light from a window on the right.

Eviden, the cybersecurity products brand of Atos Group, has been placed among the Overall Leaders in KuppingerCole Analysts' 2026 Leadership Compass for Identity Governance and Administration (IGA). The analyst firm evaluated two Eviden products: Eviden Identity Governance and Administration (formerly Evidian IGA) and Eviden Orbion Access and Governance (formerly Evidian Orbion Access and Governance).

KuppingerCole cited the portfolio's flexible deployment models, integrated analytics, adaptive authentication, a BPMN-based workflow engine, and just-in-time provisioning as key differentiators. The report also highlighted Eviden's coverage of both human and non-human identities, a capability that is increasingly central to enterprise security posture as machine accounts, service principals and AI agents proliferate inside corporate environments.

What the recognition covers

Nitish Deshpande, senior analyst at KuppingerCole, said: "Eviden demonstrates a broad and mature Identity Governance and Administration offering with solid innovation capabilities. Its portfolio addresses key requirements such as flexible deployment models, integrated analytics, adaptive authentication, workflow automation and governance for both human and non-human identities."

Eviden Orbion adds a generative AI-powered assistant that allows administrators to handle governance tasks through natural language interactions, a feature the company says streamlines operational overhead in complex hybrid environments.

Antoine Grenier, global head of cybersecurity products at Eviden, framed the recognition around consistency and control across cloud, on-premises and hybrid models, noting that enterprise identity environments are growing in scope and complexity.

Market context

The IGA market has grown substantially as regulatory frameworks, cloud adoption and the explosion of non-human identities have elevated identity management from an IT housekeeping function to a frontline security control. Eviden competes in this space against established vendors including SailPoint, Saviynt, One Identity and IBM Security Verify, as well as cloud-native entrants integrating IGA functions into broader identity platforms.

KuppingerCole's Leadership Compass is a widely cited reference point for enterprise procurement decisions, and placement among Overall Leaders typically carries commercial weight with buyers in financial services, government and critical infrastructure, all sectors where Atos Group is active.

Eviden's European heritage and the fact that its products are developed and manufactured in Europe are positioned as a competitive advantage under the EU's digital sovereignty agenda. As organisations in regulated sectors face growing pressure to demonstrate supply-chain transparency and data-residency compliance, a European-origin IGA offering may carry particular appeal in tenders subject to GDPR, DORA and NIS2 requirements.

Regulatory read-across

Non-human identity governance is becoming a regulatory concern in its own right. The EU AI Act, which phases in obligations for AI-system operators from 2026, requires organisations to maintain controls over automated decision-making entities, which in practice means knowing what identities those systems hold and what access they are permitted. Eviden's stated coverage of non-human identities therefore has potential read-across to AI compliance programmes, not only to traditional IGA procurement.

Atos Group, which is listed on Euronext Paris and reports annual revenue of approximately €7.2 billion, operates 17 security operations centres processing more than 31 billion security events per day. The KuppingerCole placement adds an independent analyst data point to its cybersecurity products narrative at a time when the broader Atos business has been undergoing financial restructuring.
