EgyptAir selects Sitecore AI platform to personalise digital experience
EgyptAir has selected Sitecore's AI-powered digital experience platform to overhaul how it delivers content and personalised communications to passengers across its web, mobile and social channels. The Cairo-headquartered carrier said the deployment is central to its strategy to grow passenger volumes as Egypt pursues its Vision 2030 tourism and economic development targets.
The airline will implement SitecoreAI, Sitecore's cloud-native digital experience platform (DXP), which combines content management, customer data and AI-driven personalisation tools in a single environment. Agentic AI capabilities within the platform are intended to help EgyptAir's marketing team generate and adapt content across languages and geographies, and to optimise campaign performance without manual intervention. Systems integrator Arcsen is expected to lead the implementation, though no go-live date was disclosed.
The deal
Chairman and chief executive Ahmed Adel said EgyptAir's passengers expect real-time, channel-appropriate information as standard. "SitecoreAI will help us deliver our digital front end, powering the main website, country sites, and app content," Adel said. "We will be, in short, moving the passenger experience into the era of AI, and making their journeys on EgyptAir more enjoyable and engaging."
Sitecore COO Dave Tilbury described the partnership as a contribution to a significant national project, noting the platform's role in helping the airline attract new visitors to Egypt. Neither executive disclosed contract value, implementation timelines, or performance benchmarks. The release did not name any existing Sitecore airline customers for comparison, and no third-party validation of the platform's claimed personalisation capabilities was cited.
Market context
The airline digital experience market is a competitive and growing segment within enterprise software, driven by passenger expectations shaped by streaming and e-commerce platforms. Legacy carriers have historically lagged low-cost rivals on digital product quality, creating an opening for DXP vendors to displace point solutions across content management, CRM and campaign tooling.
Sitecore operates in a crowded field that includes Adobe Experience Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Optimizely, as well as a number of smaller composable-DXP vendors. Airline-sector deals are attractive reference wins for DXP vendors because they demonstrate omnichannel complexity, multilingual content requirements and high-traffic load profiles that stress-test platforms credibly.
EgyptAir's broader digital transformation is taking place against a backdrop of intensifying competition on African and Middle Eastern routes, with carriers including Ethiopian Airlines and Emirates continuing to invest in their own digital and loyalty infrastructure. Egypt's Vision 2030 target of 30 million tourists annually by the end of the decade provides a structural rationale for EgyptAir's technology investment, though the airline will need to demonstrate measurable improvements in digital conversion and passenger satisfaction to justify the platform cost over time.
Sitecore's release does not specify whether the deployment covers loyalty programme integration, ancillary revenue optimisation, or real-time disruption communications, which are typically the highest-value use cases for AI-driven personalisation in aviation. These details, along with post-implementation performance data, will be the key indicators to watch as the rollout progresses.
