Targa Telematics has announced a partnership with Jurni Leasing, one of the UK's largest independent vehicle leasing and fleet management specialists, to embed connected vehicle data and AI-driven analytics into Jurni's fleet management platform. The deal brings Targa's OEM data integrations, currently spanning more than 45 car brands, into Jurni 360, a platform that consolidates vehicle, driver and operational data for Jurni's 31,000 customers. Those customers include SME fleets and a dedicated pool of roughly 3,000 school minibuses.

The partnership is centred on shifting fleet operators from reactive to proactive Service, Maintenance and Repair (SMR). By feeding real-time vehicle health signals from OEM sources directly into Jurni 360, fleet managers will gain earlier warning of potential faults, reducing unplanned downtime and keeping vehicles on the road for longer. The integration will also cover mileage monitoring, warranty compliance and servicing schedules, with AI-based pattern recognition applied to support task prioritisation and operational decision-making.

The deal

Chris Horbowyj, UK Commercial Director at Targa Telematics, said the company would help Jurni Leasing "take its services to the next level" by capitalising on its ability to process and integrate "vast amounts of vehicle-generated data to deliver actionable insights and measurable business outcomes." Duncan Fitzgerald, Chief Operating Officer of Jurni Leasing, pointed to the breadth of manufacturer coverage as the key differentiator, saying the data depth would give customers "greater visibility of their vehicles and richer insights to support better-informed decisions."

Neither party disclosed commercial terms, contract duration, or the revenue contribution the partnership is expected to generate. No customer case studies or performance benchmarks were included in the release.

Targa Telematics reports 979,000 active telematics systems in deployment and was recognised by analyst firm Berg Insight as the leading provider in the European rental and leasing market, according to the company. The group operates across nine European countries and Chile, and counts Viasat Group as an integral part of its broader business.

Market context

The connected fleet management market is experiencing consolidation as OEM-native data feeds displace after-market hardware dongles, reducing installation costs and improving data fidelity. Platform vendors such as Geotab, Webfleet (Bridgestone) and Samsara compete directly with OEM-aligned telematics specialists for leasing-company contracts, and the ability to aggregate data across multiple manufacturers without additional fitment has become a meaningful differentiator.

For vehicle leasing companies in particular, the commercial case for proactive SMR is well established: reduced breakdown frequency lowers roadside assistance costs, extends residual values and simplifies the end-of-lease inspection process. The inclusion of school minibuses in Jurni's fleet adds a compliance dimension, given the stricter duty-of-care and operator licence obligations that apply to passenger-carrying vehicles in the UK.

Regulatory tailwinds are also supportive. The UK government's connected and automated vehicles agenda, together with evolving DVSA guidance on earned recognition schemes for fleet operators, is pushing larger fleets toward data-driven compliance reporting. Platforms that can demonstrate auditable maintenance records from OEM-verified data sources are well positioned as these frameworks mature. Targa's participation in the United Nations Global Compact may also assist enterprise procurement teams with ESG supplier-screening requirements.
